The tinted, transparent cover to be fitted in front of the display needed to double up as a card reader. Given the frequent contact with cards, the display was likely to become tarnished over time. At the same time, the polycarbonate needed to be protected against UV radiation.<\/p>\n\n<p>Based on this application, Zweko suggested several coatings. Two of these were tested, and one proceeded to a specification phase. The coating offers outstanding abrasion resistance, optical quality and UV resistance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>Based on the shape of the cover, a custom coating process was developed to guarantee quality and efficiency.
