Glazing in public spaces

Case studies > Glazing in public spaces

For applications in the public sphere, durability is the main challenge. When it comes to the walls of a guardhouse on a railway station platform, that means rigidity, abrasion resistance and graffiti resistance.

Given its impact strength, polycarbonate is the ideal choice in this setting. When combined with our ViewTec™ AGR coating, this material offers excellent abrasion resistance, as well as the ability to resist graffiti. With the coating applied, the latter ensures that permanent marker or spray paint are completely unable to bond with the polycarbonate.

Across the entire scope of this contract, Zweko offered technical support and provided samples to persuade the end customer.

Zweko applied a double-sided ViewTec™ AGR coating to the sheets supplied by the customer, before cutting them into panels with the required final dimensions.
